As children and teens spend more time navigating the digital world, understanding its impact on their well-being has never been more important. Brea Olinda Unified School District invites parents and families of students in Transitional Kindergarten through 12th grade to attend Growing Up in the Digital World, a free virtual workshop designed to help parents understand online safety and connect them with resources.

The workshop will take place Thursday, November 12 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. via Zoom and will be presented by Stephanie Loscko, MSW, PPSC, from the Orange County Department of Education.

Families will learn about how the digital world can impact youth mental health, explore potential benefits and risks of technology, and gain practical strategies for helping children develop a healthy balance with technology. Topics will also include setting realistic boundaries and identifying helpful resources to support children and teens as they grow up in an increasingly connected world.

Whether your child is just beginning to explore technology or is already navigating social media and other digital platforms, this workshop offers valuable information and resources for families at every grade level.
