Room 20
Dear Families,
I am looking forward to a wonderful year with your children. My name is Christy Raish, and I have the opportunity to be your child's teacher. Together we will learn and grow, as well as enjoy ourselves along the way. In addition to academics in school, the children will learn and review expectations and behaviors for the classroom and the school. Our school wide reward system includes positive recognition as well as "Cougar Cash" and "Cougar Coins." If you have the opportunity, maybe you can ask your child about our school wide reward system.
Your child will be given an agenda to record homework and information. You should see the agenda come home every day. I'll ask if you can sign the agenda every Thursday night, along with the reading log.
Please see the desired school supply list for sixth graders in the Cougar newsletter. If your child is missing a supply, we have some supplies in the classroom as well.
Physical education (p.e.) starts this week. We will have p.e. on Tuesdays and Fridays this school year. Should there be a reason your child cannot participate in p.e. on a particular day, please send a note to that effect, and the note will be given to Mr. Harmston, our p.e. instructor. Thank you for that.
Although we will not use Google Classroom exclusively, we will use Google Classroom for some assignments. I will send a Google Classroom invitation to parents and guardians, and in fact, you may have already received it. If you could accept the invitation, that would be wonderful. I will also send a Class Dojo invitation to primary cell phone numbers. This like allows me to send a text for important reminders or information. The link will be attached to my email, not my cell phone number, so if there is something important to communicate to me during the day, please contact the office.
I am excited to be part of what will be a great school year! I hope to see you at Back to School Night on September 6th, which is an early release day, but not a minimum day.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to let me know.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Christy Raish
Believe in yourself, and what you can do!
