6th Grade Fundraising Information

Parents,

Here’s information on 6th grade activities and fundraising that I’ve gathered so far. Hoping we can divvy up the responsibilities and have teams run with their respective area.

Last year they raised $8k but they had about $3k leftover after such that each student got a $40 Congrats gift card, so we’re aiming for at least $5k here.

If you are interested in taking on something here, please reply with what you can take on. Team up/buddy up on these - it’s a long school year and we’re going to need to help each other here.

Note that we are not committed to anything here but the more we fundraise, the more we can do/buy/plan.

Does it make sense to have a meeting to go through these and make sure we are all aligned on next steps, what we want to move forward with?
  1. Fundraising -
    • Popsicle sales on Fridays when school gets out. (Walmart was the cheapest). Sold them for $1, made around $0.50 per ice cream; tends to be the best fundraiser. Mrs. Chute has the key to the freezer.
    • Christmas and Easter See's Candies
    • Porky's Pizza Dine Out - Brittany (the manager) at Porky's was working with Mrs. Chute previously. We could keep doing the last Wednesday of the month. Key here is advertisement here  (impacted the amount of money we got last year).
    • Art Masters / Memories fundraiser - the artwork will be in January. Size has to be 8.5 x 11 inches. Teresita is in charge of Art Masters for the year, so we can work with her to figure out the specifics. Try not to pick something with pastels.
    • PTO events - we always offer up pizza sales or something, so that is something that will always come up.
  2. 6th grade t-shirts - t-shirt has each student's names on it. Students have to buy and it was sold for a profit (about $2 profit per shirt last year).
  3. End of year activities - these dates will need to be worked through with the office and sixth grade teachers.
    • Movie in the MPR
    • Kickball game - 6th grade students versus teachers (this is usually the same day as the picnic),
    • EOY picnic - hot dogs were grilled on the barbecue near the tennis courts.
    • Offsite outing - last year they went to CSUF for four hours for bowling, bingo, dancing, food, etc. It was about $2,500 for rental. They also have an arcade, and each student got $5 in coins.
  4. Clothing drive company - you will need someone to volunteer their garage for a week or two, collect all the items and then donate to Savers. Last year it was done after the holiday break.

Sincerely,
